After becoming a member of the Great Resignation for the second time in early 2022, I felt completely rudderless and demoralized. Two career failures back-to-back?

What had happened to me??

Attempting to make sense of my dizzying shift from a serial overachiever to a defector of two “perfect on paper” executive roles in just nine months, I decided to return to my journalism roots.

Millions of women were also setting ablaze unfulfilling jobs as part of the Great Resignation, and I wanted to know their stories.

What were the breaking points and defining moments that led them to seek greater opportunity, too?

It was through this exploration that Raze to Rise – a journalism project amplifying women’s voices from the Great Resignation – was born.

Through my interviews and research, I realized that, collectively, we are at the forefront of a movement in which women are not only blazing new trails in their individual careers, but also changing the narrative of what it means to be a woman in the workplace.

And, quitting a job that’s no longer working for you is one of the most powerful stands a woman can take with ripple effects stretching far beyond the resignation letter.
